A large Santa Maria grill is a perfect addition to any outdoor kitchen.

Drop In Santa Maria Firebox Grill

Santa Maria Drop In Firebox Grills are designed to be installed in modular or hollow wall kitchen islands.

When deciding the depth of your island take into consideration the addition of a 1 1/2” flange on all 4 sides to cover the rough in opening cut, the unit will be centrally positioned on the countertop with four side walls for heat protection and a streamlined appearance. Ensure proper ventilation by installing vents high up on the sidewalls for effective heat dissipation. Bracing should be reinforced around the opening especially for larger and heavier grills.

Rough In

Counter opening should be a minimum of 1/2″ larger than the firebox size as listed below.

Drop In Frames are compatible with masonry kitchen islands.

When determining the width and length of your island, factor in the inclusion of a 2.5” flange on all four sides to cover the rough opening cut. The unit will be centrally positioned on the countertop with four masonry side walls, ensuring optimal heat retention, protection, and a streamlined appearance. Side ventilation is unnecessary for this model as Santa Maria and Argentine grills operate like a convection oven. While not mandatory, it is advisable to incorporate some form of drainage in the masonry island for added convenience.

Drop In Argentine Grill Firebox

Drop In Argentine Firebox grills are compatible with hollow wall kitchen islands or modular islands built with steel studs.

These units are heavy to make sure to add enough support close to the firebox. The firebox will sit centrally on the countertop with four side walls, providing optimal heat protection and a streamlined appearance. Ventilation ports in the fire cabinet are essential, as our grills radiate heat into the island’s cavity and vents are required to prevent heat encapsulation inside the walls of the hollow island. The firebox itself operates like a convection oven and does not require air ports. While not obligatory, it is recommended to include drainage in the island for added convenience.

Rough In

All opening should be a minimum of 1/2″ larger than the grills firebox.

Argentine BBQ Grill Front Door

Drop In Firebox With Front Door or Three Sided With Open Front

Santa Maria Drop In Fireboxes with open front door are designed to be installed in a hollow wall kitchen island.

When determining your island’s dimensions, incorporate a 1.5” flange on three sides, ensuring proper countertop space and avoiding interference with the rest of the island. These flanges support the grill and cover the rough opening cut. For drop-in grills with a front door, install with the front of the island open. Given their weight, provide ample support near the firebox. Ventilation ports are crucial as our grills emit heat into the island’s cavity. The grill, functioning like a convection oven, doesn’t require air ports. While not obligatory, including drainage in the island is recommended for added convenience.
